Essential Over-the-Counter Medications
- Pain Relief & Fever
Paracetamol and ibuprofen
Do NOT give aspirin to children under 16

- Anti-Diarrhoea Medication. Including oral rehydration sachets
- Burns. Burns gel or dressings for minor burns
- Cough & Cold Remedies
Decongestants, cough syrup, throat lozenges
- Antiseptic Cream/Ointment
- Hydrocortisone Cream
For inflammation, itching, and rashes
- Sunscreen
Minimum SPF15 (SPF30 recommended)
- Constipation. Mild laxatives e.g. Lactulose for adults only unless advised

You can buy a kit or make your own:
- Thermometer
- Plasters & sterile dressings
- Bandages
- Tweezers
- Eye wash solution
- Medical tape
- Saline Solution or Alcohol-free cleansing wipes for cleaning wounds
Important Considerations
Storage
Keep medicines in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children.
Expiry Dates
Check regularly and replace expired items.
Avoid double dosing
(e.g. paracetamol and cold remedies)
Always read the instructions.
Special groups, e.g. pregnant ladies, children and the elderly should be more aware of taking medications.
