Important: We’ve listened to you (our patients)
Tired of waiting on the phone to book an appointment? Fed up of being number 10 in the phone queue? Busy at 8.30am so unable to call us then? Find it uncomfortable to explain your problem to a receptionist?
Then…Use our Online system to suit you!
Avoid the queues by requesting your appointment online. These requests will go straight to our triaging Clinician who will review and dependent on their understanding of your problem either:
- Book you straight into a telephone appointment with a clinician
- Text you a link for you to book your own face to face appointment with a Clinician at a time that suits you
- Reply with advice on what non GP service you require, e.g. Pharmacy First
- Reply with advice on how you can manage your problem yourself
- Reply with a request for more information, such as to complete a short questionnaire, send a photo or drop in a urine sample
This will happen on the same day we receive your request (Monday-Friday)
Additional benefits for you include:
- Being able to specify if you have a preferred Clinician you would like to deal with (subject to their availability)
- Being able to specify your preferred contact method, e.g. you would prefer a phone call as you cannot attend the surgery that day.
- Using this service to send us information, e.g. giving us your home BP readings, saving you from having to drop in a piece of paper
Please note you will only be able to send these requests when there are appointments available. If the surgery is fully booked you will need to send your request another day.
This service cannot be used to request repeat prescriptions which should continue to be done either online or by dropping in your slip to the surgery post box.
Appointments can be booked Monday to Friday through our online form. We will respond the same day when we are open. We are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm.
Please telephone 01945 583133 during surgery opening hours only.
Phone before 11am for a triage phone call on that day.
As Monday morning is the busiest time of the week, please avoid telephoning then for non-urgent appointments or results. It is usually much easier to telephone the surgery in the afternoon. Please make it clear if your problem requires urgent attention. If you are acutely ill you will always be seen on the same day but not necessarily by your own doctor.
For routine matters please arrange a telephone call with your own doctor who will know your medical history. Five-minute emergency appointments are available to discuss one problem only and, if necessary, will be made by the doctor following a telephone consultation.
Appointments can also be made online via SystmOnline. You will need to complete a registration form to receive a username and password to access this facility. Forms can be found in Reception, once completed please hand the form to a Receptionist, with one form of ID, who will then issue you with your unique user name and password. We are unable to offer this facility to anyone aged under 18 years of age.
